Newsela

Turnkey partnered with Newsela to bring demos of their ed-tech content to life. This project started by stripping down an airstream to rebuild it into an education center on wheels. The 36’ airstream came equipped with (2) demo computers/monitors, TVs, a full AV room, and booming sound system as well as a sleek custom wrap on the exterior. Outside the airstream, educators were encouraged to gather around the camping assets and engage in fire-side-chats and yard games.

Newsela activated multiple events over the course of 2 months.  Turnkey supplied (2) Tour Managers that transported the airstream to each event and lead set up/breakdown of the footprint and airstream tech. The “Newsela IRL” airstream was featured center stage at the Edtech conference, ISTE, in June 2022 in New Orleans. Following ISTE, the airstream attended local events in the Chicagoland area – giving faculty and staff a chance to experience new features, playing a few yard games, and enjoying complimentary tacos and ice cream from locally sourced vendors.
